Lunchtime Learning in Action

Our library has been buzzing with innovation as students put their coding and problem‑solving skills to the test during lunchtime esports sessions!

This week, our Year 4–6 students took on the challenge of directing Sphero robots using iPads, navigating them through obstacle courses designed by our younger learners. Meanwhile, our Year 1–3 students have been busy using Sammy the Sandwich robots to learn sequencing and early coding skills in a fun, hands‑on way.

When does it happen?

  • Monday – First Break:Years 1–3
  • Thursday – First Break:Years 4–6

These experiences directly support the Digital Technologies curriculum, helping students to:

  • Develop computational thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Understand sequencing, algorithms and debugging
  • Collaborate, communicate and think creatively
  • Apply technology in purposeful, real‑world ways

A huge thank you to our Parents and Friends Advisory Group for their generosity in funding these fantastic new resources. Your support is helping us build future‑focused learners and strengthen technology learning across the school.
